Graciela Iturbide's contribution to photography is recognized

The 78-year-old Mexican photographer, Graciela Iturbide, has received the award for outstanding contribution to photography within the 2021 Sony World Awards. Graciela Iturbide was recognized as the best living photographer in Latin America.
Her work will be presented in a virtual exhibition on the website of the World Photography Organization from April 15.
Graciela Iturbide was born in 1942 in Mexico City into a traditional Catholic family, she is the oldest of 13 siblings. After marrying at age 20 and having three children, it was not until age 27 that she decided to pursue her passion for photography.
